Cause of severe thigh muscle pain in operated leg

I was a member of this site in 2004. Dr Gross resurfaced my right hip on 11/2004. All good until last several months. I have had episodes of severe thigh muscle pain after athletic/physical activity. Any ideas re: what might be causing this? X-rays don't seem to show loosening.
