Phew, made it back home on Sunday in time for the Super Bowl. Discharged Saturday and spent Saturday night across the street at the residence inn.  Slept well, and headed out to Charlotte at 10:30 for a direct flight into Portland.  Everything went very well, my wife of 33 years is amazing, she packed my suitcases, kept track of my medications, kept things moving forward.  We requested special assistance at the airport, and I don’t think it would have been possible without that.  The airport personal were great at wheeling me through to my gate. I had to take an OxyContin on the plane because I had been siting for so long.  So far that is the last one of those that I have taken.  I’m hoping to be off the narcotics by Wednesday. I’ve been following Dr. Grosses protocol, and so far so good.  I’m not trying to rush anything.  I took a 2 hour nap yesterday, and slept 11 hours last night.  I generally live on 6 to 7 hours of sleep a night. I didn’t think I was that tired until I started to get some sleep, probably running on adrenaline. Nice to be home, hanging out keeping up with foot pumps, and the limited PT exercises that Dr. Gross wants me to do.  I’ll start walking when his protocol calls for it.  I feel like I could do more, but I’m going to listen to the Dr. no sense pushing things and having a setback.
