How high is too high for chromium levels?

Hi All,

I had Bilateral Birmingham resurfacings in 2009 at the age of 24. Double the dose and double the fun! I have been tracking my blood metal levels for almost 11 years and recently had 202 for my chromium level and 105 for cobalt (ug/L for both). I understand from the literature that i am ok if below 119 of cobalt but what is the situation for chromium as I can't seem to get clarity on that and have been told this is 'something i must talk to my consultant about as a priority'. I have had MRIs and am currently asymptomatic.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks so much x

On my last test, they used a different scale than that.  Here is what the test results listed the upper limits as:
Chromium:  < 1.3 mcg/L
Cobolt:  < 1.9 mcg/L


The complete test description was:
"...Reporting Limit: 10 mcg/L
The normal value for titanium is generally less than
5 mcg/L. In patients with a titanium-based
implant/prosthesis, a serum concentration greater than
10 mcg/L may be indicative of wear. However, a
reported titanium value alone is not predictive of
prosthesis wear or failure.
Analysis by Inductively Coupled Plasma/Mass
Spectrometry (ICP/MS)"
