Had my surgeries about 4-4.5 years ago with Dr. Brooks and they went well. Recovery seemed a little slower than most but not unusually so.

When I watch myself on video now I can see I am still very slightly limping or my gait is subtly altered. To me, it doesn't feel like I'm limping at all, but I can see it.

My muscles/nerves seem to be firing properly, my strength is good, and my range of motion is excellent.

I can walk long distances, but, walking, especially when walking slowly, is much much harder than it should be The gluteus medius, despite clearly firing properly, fatigues much faster than it should. Sometimes I wonder if my gluteus minimus is not working properly but I don't know how to test that.

Anyone else with no real complications have permanently altered gait, subtle limp or muscle groups that fatigue faster than they should?

I've done strength training and strength is not an issue and I surf aggressively regularly. I just can't seem to walk 100% normally.

Is it possible your legs are slightly different lengths? Perhaps such a small amount you've never noticed? That could cause this. Or maybe at this point it's just ingrained habit, and not anything mechanical? You might ask your doctor on your next visit, or perhaps email your surgeon's office.

you ever get to the bottom of this? I'm at months 3 and starting to get concerned. My strength is not 100% back but i'm seeing signs of what you described (same surgeon). I was also curious is leg length can cause this.
