I wanted to thank Pat and everyone here on surfacehippy.  Last Wednesday my wife and two children made the drive up to Mt. Shasta to have a LHR done by Dr. Ure.  I can't say enough great things about the entire hospital, staff, and especially surgeon.  Don't get me wrong even at 38 y.o. I am not dancing on any tables yet but I feel stronger everyday!  Pat thank you for the personal emails that were really encouraging even when my enthusiasm ran away from me for a bit.  Heck!  Who am I kiddin,  I was ready to run out of the pre-op that morning but I know as I improve each day the light is quickly coming back at the end of this 30 year tunnel...Thanks to all your support.  Shawn LHR, Dr. Ure

Hi Shawn

Glad to hear everything went well..

Most people are a little nervous before major surgery.  Our hips are pretty important to us.

You are well on your way now. You will find each day is better than the one before.  Occassionaly you will take one step forward and two back, but on the whole you will be getting better and better.

Many people find a plateau at about 4 weeks or 6 weeks and then further out like at 6 months.  You just notice a big jump in your improvement, etc.

Good Luck and keep in touch.
