Just a note to express my thanks for this website and the lessons learned from your personal experiences. My doctor told us about this site after my surgery (November, 13), and I've looked at it numerous times of late. Mauro Giordoni, was my physician and I can't say enough good things about him. He was courteous, informative and I'm finding that he's quite conservative. I will be confined to a walker until December 9, though I feel I am progressing well (that's a little discouraging, but I'm trying to take a long view of this thing). Can't drive for another four weeks, but anticipate being back to work in two.
I have been an active individual and long to return to my pursuits. Golf (5 handicap), waterfowl hunter (and duck season begins Thursday, friends have promised to take my dogs hunting, otherwise, they'd sulk for days!), road biking (2000 miles a year), and weighlifting 3-5 days a week. After consulting two doctors, both of whom insisted on a THR, I learned of BHR on the internet and discovered Dr. Giordoni was proficient in the procedure and was at the University of Kentucky. Case closed. Now we await the results. Anyway, I know my recovery is dependent on me and I'll be seeking encouragement and motivation from my fellow hippys.

Thank You for your kind words about the website.

Congratulations on your new hip.  It will take a bit of time and patience - but pretty soon you will be forgetting all about the new hip.  You will have a great summer ahead of you.

The folks on the Hip Talk Discussion Group are great people and very supportive.  I think you will find a lot of encouragement here.
