Today is my 2 year anniversary!  And I am doing great!  I rarely even think about my hip anymore.  Once in a great while, I will "remember" if I bend a certain way (and it's just a slight pressure that I feel) but other than that, I have had no problems or pain!  And even the clunking is rare compared to a year ago.  Good luck to those who are about to have their surgery!  Here's to a quick and successful recovery to those that have just had their surgeries.  And to those that are just "thinking about it".....go for it!  If you suffer from hip pain that has stopped you from living, this surgery will get you your life back!
