in the hospital i was fitted with thigh highs. i cannot find anywhere local that stocks thigh highs, are knee highs okay? i know i can order online, but i would like to get them very soon. the pair i got at the hospital is already looking pretty ragged.

Wal Mart has them.  I bought an extra pair. Most drug stores do too.  I think they want your full leg to be under compression.   You could call your doctor and ask for sure.

I wore TEDS for 14 days.  Took them off at night while I slept.  Some doctors use them and some don't.

If you doctor wants you to use them, I certainly would.
