Do any of you long distance run or sprints after having surgery? 1year or more?

I was running about 5 miles a day and would even do hill intervals (sprint up, jog down)  before my hip went flaky.  Do any of you long distance run or play anything aggressive where you have to do wind sprints?  Maybe even short marathons?  I just want to get a gauge on what I can do after surgery and what I'll never be able to do again.

Is there anything you'll never be able to do after surgery that you could do before?

Zap - do a search on here for sprinting and you'll get at least one thread on it.  If I recall there were a couple folks that were competing in track and I think most folks said they felt there really was no difference pre and post op with regards to speed and strength, albeit they had to do the standard recovery period (6 to 12 months).  One of the members (Kirk) has posted a fair amount about long distance running.  I bet he'd have something to say.  For me, I want to be able to do wind sprints on the soccer field before playing a soccer game and being able to chase down folks on defense.  That's my ultimate goals with all of this, although I remain a little cautious because I'm still another 12 months out.
