fast forward from one year ago to today. one year ago i was checking out of the hospital with a lbhr, today a 4 mile run and 1 hour on the mountain bike. my surgeon's advice, enjoy what you lost prior to the resurface. he reminded me that i went for this procedure so that i could get after life again, not to worry about the life expectancy of a metal implant. there are always risks from surgery and there may complications down the road.  but, when it comes to an active life, today i am once again skier, runner, cyclist, swimmer, basketball player, baseball player (well, little league coach),golfer and anything else i choose to be. the only downside so far is the realization that i am just not as fast as i used to be, i guess we have to make some compromise.

Nice post pc.  Congrats on what was obviously a terrific recovery and thanks for inspiring those of us "on the other side".

Thanks for the update.

I plan to follow your surgeon's advice to a tee.  Life is for living.  I sounds like you are taking full advantage.

Best wishes.

Sounds like you have had a great result! I hope to also be returning back to my normal lifestyle in about 14 months(I've to wait about 2 months for my op) I wish you all the best and hope your BHR lasts you a lifetime!

Thanks pc.  Congratulations on living life to its fullest.  I am less than 3 weeks post-op, so yours is an inspiring story.
