Hang in there Hank,  you are in this for the long run.  I say that as I sit here icing after 1 1/2 hrs of home self-induced, trying to stay motivated, losing my patience PT.  I can't believe how week I am.  But I see a little progress, tiny progress, every day.  I could do the one legged squat with only 1/2 the help I needed a week ago.

A couple more weeks off work - may be difficult to think about, but I wish now I'd taken 1 more week off, and I have a desk job at home!  I was exhausted and felt sick that first week.  Sounds like your job is stand up and busy to say the least.  Take the time to feel better.

Be nice to yourself.  Remember the small strides your ARE making!  And that you are not alone!

{and YES that surgery video is FRIGHTENING!!!!  Can't believe we've been through that!}

Thanks WTW15, you have been a great help. I know I'm getting better 2 1/2 weeks ago I was afraid to walk to my barn,and now I can walk there even though my crutch sinks to the hand part.

Yes I work in a ICU and I have 8 hr shifts and 12 hr shifts. And I know how I am I will end up hurting myself taking care of my patients. At least I know when when I get nauseated that my body is tired.

You made me laugh when you mention doing your squads, my freezer in on the bottom and I squated to get my ice pack and realized I couldn't get back up unless I climbed up the cabinets,but at least it didn't hurt :) Thanks again.

I got badly depressed after i found out my Childhood problems had come back to slap me in the face at 45. I suffered from Perthes and had a double osteotomy as a child.
Then I had the wonderful super Surgeon Derek McMinn repair me on my right side, and I did too much too soon and fractured the head of my femur under the cap. Big depression when I found out what i  had done and that the odds of me healing were very slim. Then 3 months non weight bearing and it held together, big high, then other hip starts giving me big grief big low, then I start walking unaided big high then I do too much and have to go back to a stick little low a few days on, walking fine again spirits lifting. Overdo it again back to stick little low then swim it off and cycle 8 miles big high.

I have been up and down like a bloody Yo Yo but I am going to go see the maestro to get checked up because I am sure I have or will beat this major set back.
