Mild metallosis - what next?

I had bilateral resurfacing three years ago, I had metal ion tests in Dec that came back very low.  I've just had psoas release scope and my surgeon has come back and says he sees mild metallosis.

I am now freaking out, what does this mean?  I have no symptoms from it, he said he saw lots of inflammation.

Anyway, any thoughts welcome - will I need a revision, is it a wait and see process, can it settle down?   I had a cortisone injection for my psoas, could that have caused it?

Many thanks!

Hi Slinkycarrot,
Sorry you’re dealing with this. 18 months ago, I learned that my blood ion levels were somewhat elevated (7s & 8s), 12 years after my resurfacing. My surgeon ordered a MARS MRI to see what was going on. Long story short: the docs were not so worried about the blood ion numbers but they saw fluid build up around the joint. After getting opinions from multiple resurfacing surgeons, I opted for a revision. Dr. Pritchett preserved the resurface; he just replaced the cup. That was a year ago and everything went really well.
So- ask your doctor about getting a MARS MRI. Good luck.
