Liz M’s Hip Resurfacing with Dr. Gross 2017
June 17, 2017
I had L resurfacing done by Dr. Gross 5/10/2016. Of course everyone in my city (Austin, TX) advised me against it, even a ortho here in town that does them. Well it’s true that he couldn’t do my surgery anyway bcs I’m a tiny female. But once I read about Dr. Gross, I knew the trip to South Carolina would be worth it. So far my recovery has been entirely uneventful, thank … Read the rest

Update May 27, 2017 – I’m sharing my story because I know that there are others who are experimenting with what it is possible to accomplish physically with resurfaced hips. Just posting for my (almost) 6 month post-surgery mark (I used 24 weeks because it came quicker :-))
Bottom Line: I couldn’t be happier.
To go back a year ago and recall all the hobbling and pain I experienced while trying to remain active, and then compare to how I feel now is simply hard to imagine. I’m doing activities that I haven’t done in *years*. I ran on the track … Read the rest

Emaxwell’s Bilateral Hip Resurfacing with Dr Gross 2009
I am just over 2 weeks post op from second half of Bilateral. The first week was definitely a challenge. I took the pain pills before I felt I needed them and that worked great, not much pain to deal with. I was a little unprepared for how useless my legs would be, a good deal of swelling even with the ice machine. I guess the big downside from Bilateral is not having a good
