I found out I qualified for as an age-grouper for Team GB in the world aquathlon champs in Pontevedra, Spain in May 2019. I passed the one year postop landmark feeling strong and ready to crank-up the run training. I have just completed my first run race for over 5 years and managed 21:32 for 5k – not at all fast but going in the right direction.
My hip feels great – all those squats, lunges, bridging, hopping, jumping … seems to have worked. About to start next phase of run training to include speedwork and plyometrics plus strength training in the gym – hope to be under 20 mins in the summer.
