Justal’s Hip Resurfacing with Dr. Su 2010
August 31, 2010
I’m now seven weeks post-op and feel great. Last week my surgeon, Dr. Su, said that my recovery was “off the charts”. I’m going to the gym and doing whatever I can to get back to the way I was 5 years ago before OA hit. I really think that state of mind plays a big role in this recovery. If you want and need to get back to normal, you have to think positive and just do everything you can to achieve that goal.

I had my right hip done in the beginning of July and as of now (11/9/10), I’d say that I’m about 98% back to normal. I couldn’t have done this without PT. It’s a must. You have to repair the damaged muscle. PT lessens the time of healing and gives for greater mobility.

I had my right hip done on July 8 and went back to work part time (2 days a week) after the third week. I went back full time at the end of August. Even though I felt pretty good and my doctor (Dr. Su) said that my healing was off the charts, I felt that it was better to take it easy. So, what I am saying is that if I were you, being that you have a desk job and will be sitting for long periods of time, two months would be my guess. Sitting for long periods of time actually does feel worse than walking.
