Ron K’s Hip Resurfacing with Dr. Bose 2009
November 1, 2009
One of my favorite pastimes before my hip pain became too unbearable, was to climb up Amicalola Falls, a steep mountain in North Georgia, USA. All throughout those difficult first few weeks after surgery, I kept dreaming of the day that I would once again be able to climb the 604 steps to the top of my favorite mountain. Well, today was a beautiful, clear crisp day here in Georgia, so I could not resist the temptation to take the ride up there. I climbed up those 604 steps with gusto, and could not hold in a big grin as I made it to the top. All that effort of the surgery paid off! I had made it to the top!!
I have been training regularly since my surgery, almost 3 months ago. I started with progressively longer walks for the first 6 weeks, and then for the next 6 weeks I alternated between intense sessions on the stationary bicycle and weightlifting (with extremely light weights).
