Rich Hampton Hip Resurfacing Left BHR with Dr. Rogerson 3/28/11
Update 2017
I not only finished what is arguably the most difficult full iron distance triathlon race (Challenge Full Wanaka, NZ) in the world but was honored to achieve a 2nd place award in my age group (60-69)! I want to truly thank you and your team for allowing me to accomplish this event.
Sincerely, Rich Hampton Left BHR recipient March 2006

POST-OP PATIENT TESTIMONIAL: RICH HAMPTON: (L BHR 3/28/11)
Hi Dr. Rogerson, On June 14, 2014 I completed a Half Ironman Triathlon (Aurora High Cliff) in Appleton, Wisc. I had completed this race last year as well. I couldn’t be happier with my race results. In fact, this year my finish time was faster including a deduction in my run time of 5 minutes!
My resurfaced hip was and has been, since surgery of March 2011, unnoticed. With that said, I always err on the side of caution in that I keep my run pace under control. Meaning I walk/run the run portion of the race. More walk than run (minimal impact). I plan in a couple of years to compete in full ironman Wisconsin race which I had completed twice prior to surgery.
Thank you so much again for your help in getting me back on the road. As an athlete, you gave me hope that I could continue my active lifestyle, which is a great thing to have. Whether it’s triathlon, stair climbing, hiking, rock climbing, etc, I am very happy to be able to continue these activities and plan to continue them well into my later years!
I will continue to promote yourself and your team to whomever may be a possible candidate for hip resurfacing. I had a fantastic experience with you and your team from the first consultation, in which you gave me all the time to discuss all aspects and questions regarding hip resurfacing, to my completion at hip-hab. I cannot thank you enough for all your support and Scott Tinley for personally recommending you. You are a true professional. Like you said “I measure four times and cut once”! Please feel free to use me as a reference.
Sincerely, Rich Hampton
