Blaine Griffiths Hip Resurfacing with Dr. Brooks 2020
Blaine’s first squat lifting 95 pounds
Started to have hip pain about 4 years ago progressing to a point that I was in constant pain, limping and limited function. Went to see a number of orthopedic surgeons who specialized in hip arthroscopy but unfortunately the diagnosis was the same …. Advanced arthritis requiring a new hip. A friend who is an a orthopedic surgeon ( Dr. Michael Groover) advised me to consider a Birmingham hip resurfacing. He explained the procedure to me as well as the difference between BHR and a total hip. He had completed a fellowship at the Cleveland clinic with Dr Brooks and told me how precise and skilled he was in surgery. After meeting Dr Brooks and his PA they also detailed the procedure and scheduled me for October 20,2020.
I will tell everyone that the recovery is NOT for the faint of heart but one year later it was worth it. It has allowed me to have my life back and continue with activities that help me enjoy my life.
One year later I’m grateful for my decision and if need be I would do it for other hip if necessary.
