Just got right hip resurfaced by Dr Antoniou in Montreal about 18 hours ago. Back at the hotel. I tried walking around the room with no crutches/walker, backwards, forwards, sidesteps. SHort steps but unassisted. I told this to the nurse who came by to bring me a walker, she was worried and said it’s too early to be walking without assistance.

Hello Everybody, Just an update with good news. I saw Dr. Greidanus for my 2 month follow up. He declared that I now have no restrictions allowing for a return to cross trainers, stairmasters, bicycles, and even tennis. I was referred for physio for “aggressive” treatment. Dr. John Antoniou replaced two hips with the articular resurfacing. The first one was done in 2007 the second one this summer 2009. I am 69, perhaps one of the older gals that have had this done. My recovery has been good and the first one I had done feels wonderful.

May 9, 2012 I am almost 3 months post-op (BHR R hip; Dr. Antoniou), and the right hip did seem like it was going well…although I think I might have overdone things over the weekend climbing outside and then in the gym. I managed a pretty steep 11c and other 5.11’s in the gym (all on TR), but I still feel pretty fragile.

April 22, 2011 I waited a full 12 months to get this surgery ( I live in Canada, free medical care but longer wait times ).
