Kevin Hunter Bilateral Hip Resurfacing Dr. Gross 2020/2021
February 1, 2022
1st hip – June 2020. September 2020 returned to caddying (5-7miles of walking/jogging) 2nd hip – April 2021. August 2021 – Returned to caddying. November 2021 – Started playing pickleball for first time and move as well as Iprior to any hip issues. Total flexibility and strength is probably not where it was, but not noticeable for my desired activities, golf, biking, walking/running, pickleball, and keeping up with grandkids. I’m very grateful for Dr. Gross and his expertise.

I was running/walking 36 holes as a 60 year old caddie just a little over 2 yrs ago. Today marks 6 months since my 2nd and 16 months since my 1st resurfacing by Dr. Gross. I’ve followed his conservative routine and today I run again…with my five year old grandson! My hips feel strong and ready to go.

I was18 weeks post-op on my right hip by Dr Gross in October, 2020. My wife and I were doing our daily 2.5+ mile walk. I went 2 blocks and had to turn back because of discomfort in my left hip. Fast forward 6 months and I am 11 days post-op for a second time. I told Dr. Gross that’s it. That’s the last hip of mine on which he gets to operate. The first hip was ready to run when the second one went bad. And now in round 2, this one seems to be going even better than the first…or it’s just that I know what to expect this time and less anxious. Either way, I am very appreciative for the skills of Dr. Gross and his team!
