Every year since 2008 I’ve meant to post a “yea, another year with my hip” First time I’ve actually remembered. Anyway, hip was resurfaced Sept 22, 2008 by Dr Pritchett in Seattle. Have not had one iota of a problem since. And want to thank this Pat and this site, it was so much help in finding a surgeon and easing fears before surgery. All the success stories were invaluable.

I wanted to update that things are still going great. As noted, I had my right hip resurfaced by Dr. Mont 15 years ago and my left 8 years ago. I seldom if ever think about them and continue to be as active and engaged as ever. I’m in the gym most days either doing 3 miles on the treadmill or 30 minutes on the bike. 5 years today November 19 with my Left BHR Birmingham Hip Resurfacing and 30 months with my Right THR total hip replacement.

Mr McMinn replaced my right hip with a BHR twenty years ago (followed by another on the left over six years ago).
It has felt exactly like a natural, healthy hip throughout all that time and I am still as active as I want to be, including tennis a couple of times a week, cycling, motorcycling etc.
