June 24, 2009 I had hip resurfacing June 4 by Dr. Andrew Carter in Newport News, Virginia, using the direct anterior approach. I was his tenth resurfacing patient even though he has been doing thps with this approach for many years. No muscles are cut. they are only retracted with this technique.

April 02, 2011 I had my right hip resurfaced by Dr. Kenneth Kress at Resurgens in Atlanta yesterday morning. Since I was able get around with a walker and do stairs, Dr. Kress gave me the option of going home that same evening. October 7, 2009 I had my surgery in the Bronovo Hospital in Den Haag, Netherlands on 2 October 2009. Components were Zimmer 56 mm Femoral Component into a 62 mm Acetabular component on my left hip, they look huge on the x-ray!

May 5, 2008 I’m 38 and I have just had both hips resurfaced (I am 6 days post the second op, the first was done 13 days ago). I am worried that the flexion contractures I had pre-operatively will stay, as when I try to lie flat on my back, it quickly becomes very painful in the groin. April 12, 2011 All went well with my RBHR. Its 6 days post op and on 1 crutch since day 4. I like to think in terms of where I will be in a month…2 months..etc. Just keep a positive attitude and don’t be too hurried afterwards. PT is going well and at this point seems to aimed at re-engaging those muscles that have been traumatized.
