I’m three and a half weeks postop for my LBHR. I will meet with my doctor on Oct 14th, and then we will decide the date for my right side. He had said early on that he wanted to do them three months apart. I was not a candidate to have them done at the same time either, due to complications. I had my RBHR with Dr. Su September 11, 2009 and commented to him the day after about how little pain I now had compared to the previous 3 years. The epidural catheter won’t be removed for a couple of days which allows you to use a pump to self medicate for any pain.

November 14, 2011 I am relatively new to the board and will have a RBHR in one month. The surgeon I have seen is very experienced in BHR’s. Fortunately my bone density for a 56 year old female is good. However I am 5’4′. July 29, 2011 Had my consult with Dr. Su on 7/20 and all went well. Found him to be extremely intelligent, likable, approachable and compassionate. Thanks to you all he said I had surely done my research in asking the right questions and voicing my concerns. January 6, 2010 I had my right hip resurfaced 8 days ago by Dr. Su at the Hospital for Special Surgery. The surgery went well according to Dr. Su, about 95 mins. No cartilage was remaining in my right hip. 2 nights in the hospital, then home. The Hospital for Special Surgery is very organized and well run; the staff there competent and friendly; a good place to be a patient.

I met with Dr. Su today, and must say, he is an amazing, caring doctor. After our initial consult, my husband and I decided that Dr. Su, indeed, is the best surgeon for this amazing surgical procedure. His Physician’s Assistant and his Admin team were patient, quite knowledgeble and answered every question.

October 31, 2010 I’m 8 days post op on my bilateral hip resurfacing with Dr. Su at HSS. I have incisions on both sides between 10-12 inches.
