Reed’s Hip Resurfacing with Dr. Kreuzer 2011
LBHR Dr. Kreuzer Feb. 9, 2011
I would love to get the word out that there is absolutely no reason to try and endure that kind of pain for so long for absolutely no reason.
Just the bare bones outline: I’ve been pretty active and fitness minded since my teenage years, and never really lost my enjoyment of exercise and activity. Maybe just a few short weeks after I turned 35 I started noticing a throbbing pain in either of my hips at different times of the day. These pains grew progressively more severe over time. Eventually (over a year after it first started) the pain led me to the doctors office. I was told I had Femoral Acetabular Impingement, so a little arthroscopic clean-up of my hips was performed. The Dr. who did my artho-procedure told me both my hips were completely absent of any cartilage whatsoever due to the way they had been shaped and my activity level, and that it was just a matter of time before I needed replacement. So, I ground out another agonizing year before finding this website and a list of Dr.’s to boot. It seemed like the holy grail of what I had been hoping for, something to stop the pain but wouldn’t limit my activity level too severely after the procedure.I found Dr. Stefan Kreuzer, Memorial Bone and Joint in Houston, and made the appointment to see him. Dr. Kreuzer reassured me that I had the worst hips he had ever seen on a 38 year old.
I had my left hip done on 2/9/2011 and here I sit on 2/14/2011 writing this wishing time would jump forward 3 months so Dr. Kreuzer could get to my right hip.
