My first BHR procedure was at the Cleveland Clinic in early February of 2010, left hip, when I was 62 years old.
All is going well with my recover after four weeks and I plan on return to running early in 2023. I believe in the … Read the rest

I’m happy to say everything went over and beyond my expectations. I just got back and woke up in the middle of the night, so I thought I’d check in with you guys to let you know. I have plenty of information to give, which I will later. What I will say now, is I walked in the hospital with a painful limp and started walking using a cane in 3 days … Read the rest

November 16, 2021 – David’s original story here
About a week ago, my right BHR hip resurfacing celebrated its 22nd anniversary. Still behaving impeccably (and putting my knees to shame). Left BHR hip resurfacing managed a mere eight years earlier in the year.
Managing a couple of tennis matches each week.
Still very grateful for this terrific procedure and Mr. McMinn’s surgeon’s skill.… Read the rest

GMED’s Hip Resurfacing with Mr. Treacy 2020
April 3, 2020
I’ve waited until now because I didn’t want to jump the gun. I’m very aware that things can go wrong. I’m over the moon with my new Hip resurfacing. All the information on this web site about searching for a good Surgeon to rehab have been a god send. I have nothing to add about rehab apart from echoing the point “don’t rush things”. Walking 1 mile a day is all you … Read the rest

I Want a Hip Resurfacing But am Concerned About the Negative Response in the Medical Community
A new member of the Hip Talk Discussion Group is considering hip resurfacing, but very concerned about the negative press and the medical communities not supporting hip resurfacing.
