May 9, 2012 I am almost 3 months post-op (BHR R hip; Dr. Antoniou), and the right hip did seem like it was going well…although I think I might have overdone things over the weekend climbing outside and then in the gym. I managed a pretty steep 11c and other 5.11’s in the gym (all on TR), but I still feel pretty fragile.

August 30, 2010 I’m 54, sons 12 and 16 in hockey and I want to skate again with them. Heck, I want to be able to tie my own shoes again! September 14, 2009 I am ten days post-op from a BHR procedure on my right hip at UCD Medical Center, Northern California. My surgeon is Dr. Paul Dicesare, the head of Orthopedic Surgery at the University Hospital, a teaching doctor. I have osteo-arthritis in both hips, and dysplasia as well. July 19, 2008 My BHR was done 7/10 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta by Dr. Stephen Smith. Guess that makes me about 9 days post-op. I am 62 years old and over the past twelve years have completed about 65 triathlons and various other running events including marathons. Surgery is scheduled with Dr. Su in NYC for April 9. I guess I will be the first to attempt competetive sprinting after HR. Likely I expect it will be at least a year after that before I can begin sprint training.
