Jamie A’s Testimonial about his right BHR 5/19/14 with Dr. Rogerson.
I’ve done triathlons for the past 20 years. I had a bicycle crash about 20 yrs ago which started my OA on my right hip. I had to stop running about 4 yrs ago and decided to get RBHR this year, 2008. I had my pedal stoke analyzed in March 08 and I was pedaling 60% with my left and 40% with my right.
I first heard about the BHR from Floyd Landis … Read the rest
There has been a lot of discussion recently in public forums about hemi resurfacing. Hemi resurfacings are not normally used by the most experienced hip resurfacing surgeons. I have been privileged to personally speak with many of them and I know their negative feelings about hemi resurfacing.
Performing a hemi resurfacing is like only doing half the job. The past history of hemi resurfacing has shown it to be a poor choice for most patients. … Read the rest

Metal-on-metal (MoM), ceramic-on-ceramic (CoC), and ceramicized
metal-on-polyethylene (CMoP) bearings all were developed as a reaction to the
well recognized mediocre long-term results with metal-on-polyethylene hips in
younger, more active patients.
Polyethylene wear increases with increased
activity and load, and often elicits an aggressive response from the body where
loosening and bone loss occurs (osteolysis), making subsequent revision more
difficult.
Alternate bearings (MoM, CMoP, and CoC) are more resistant to
wear, and their wear … Read the rest
Was standing on my good leg, operated leg was at about a 90 degree angle while I
put some cream on my knee. Probably bent forward and flexed my hip a bit, the
operated side knee rotated in and I started to fall. Tried to push with the
operated leg to right myself, NO STRENGTH. I collapsed and fell back, noticing a
strange friction in the hip joint after landing on my butt.

RBHR March 20, 2008 Dr. Rogerson |
I just had my right hip resurfaced by Dr. Rogerson 3/20/08. You cannot do any better than Dr. Rogerson’s surgical skills and the comprehensive program (including rehab) he has set up. Was in the hospital for 2 days (standard), then discharged to go directly to arranged rehab. My husband drove me about 1 mile to Meriter Heights (a retirement & rehab complex in downtown Madison). We checked into a |

After all the hoopla, travel and what seemed like waiting longer than a full-term pregnancy, surgery is over. I am officially a Bionic Woman. I was scheduled first up at 7:30 on Valentine’s Day, what a way to get that little sparkly something. We’d scheduled a cab for 5:20, since the forecast was for snow (again) and apparently cab drivers in Wisconsin still find it to be a surprise |

We have received a number of inquiries in our office regarding the merits of
cemented versus non-cemented femoral head components in hip resurfacing
arthroplasty.
Bear in mind that my experience with hip resurfacing to date has essentially
been associated with the Smith and Nephew Birmingham hip resurfacing system as
designed by Drs. McMinn and Treacy.
The system utilizes a line to line fit on the femoral head component … Read the rest
I had my right hip resurfaced by Dr. Rogerson on 12/6/07 and have the left scheduled for 2/18/08. I was thoroughly satisfied with Dr. Rogerson and his team from beginning to end. Dr. Rogerson is a great surgeon and a very nice man. I immediately felt confident in his abilities after I met him. He and his PA (JoAnna) were exceptionally thorough in their explanation of the procedure and in answering my questions. The office |
