Amy O’s Hip Resurfacing with Dr. Gross 2022
Beautiful email from Amy to Pat Walter about the Surface Hippy.info website

I had my left hip resurfaced by Dr. Gross about 10 years ago. It’s still going strong. I never liked running, and would sometimes run up to 5 miles at a time for exercise. After my hip resurfacing surgery I began experiencing a cramp in the psoas muscle if I ran – and while running itself caused no pain – the muscle woudl cramp up and I had … Read the rest

I’ve waited until now because I didn’t want to jump the gun. I’m very aware that things can go wrong. I’m over the moon with my new Hip resurfacing. All the information on this web site about searching for a good Surgeon to rehab have been a god send. I have nothing to add about rehab apart from echoing the point “don’t rush things”. Walking 1 mile a day is all you … Read the rest

I’m single, live alone, and have much the same friend relationships as you. I had resurfacing on 02-28-2018 and had planned for a normal recovery alone but awakened after surgery to the news that I’d be on the extra-slow recovery program due to some severe acetabular erosion and the need for bone grafts. I was on a walker with 10% weight-bearing for six weeks, transitioning to crutches and ramping up to … Read the rest
